Who We are & What We Do
Paw Pet Haven is a non-profit pet shelter. We take in almost any type of pet. If we cannot take a pet in then we can refer you to someone who can! We started Paws Pet Haven about 2 years ago. We have rehomed many animals to great new familys as well as many have become permanent additions of our family! We try and handle all the pets as much as possible to keep them well socialized. We also introduce them to kids and other pets whenever possible. We love the animals and that why we do what we do. We cannot keep every pet that comes through our doors but we enjoy the time we spend with them.
Most of our pets have small adoption fees. The main reason for this is that we often get hit with huge medical bills as well as we always have to buy supplies, food, toys, cages, ect.
Most people think if we get pets in for free then they should get them for free. Well if a pet comes in healthy and can go to a new home that same day then wonderful he would have a free adoption. This is rarely the case. Most pets at minimum need food, houseing, and supplies purchased for them. (We are very grateful for people who give us great prices on cages ect.) Some pets incure way more costs than that. For example we had a dog come in thats cost $300 for antibiotics and she went to a new home for free. Another puppy had a $900 surgery and was adopted for $200. Not all pets have such high costs but some of them do. We have no funding so overall we rarely break even.
When you adopt a pet we will give you a sheet with a little info on their story and where they came from, what, if any, medical treatments they had. If you would send us an updated picture of your pet when you get it home we would love to put it on the site!
We do not post our address on the site. The main reason being so people dont leave animals on our doorstep. For one it is way to cold for that and we always want to know a little history and the pets we are taking in.
We also take waiting lists. If you are looking to adopt a certain pet we have a list of names with emails/phone numbers and info on what type of pet(with or without accessories) you are looking for. We do our best to contact people on the list before posting them for adoption on the site.
We have expanded slightly and have a few more fosterhomes which means we are able to take in more pets. We generaly do not take in cats because both my fiance, and some of the foster homes have allergies. If you are having trouble rehoming your cat feel free to contact us and we will help you if there is anyway possible.
We always appreciate donations of cages, terrariums,food, bedding, toys ect but we also understand that they are usually worth quite a bit and we are willing to pay for them when we can.
We could also use a few more foster homes. If you can open your home to a small animal, dog, cat or other pet please let us know and we can give you a little more info on what fostering involves!

They are really wonderful dogs which is why the sheters spend so much money sending them to us instead of euthanizing them. Luckily there are not pitbull bans in saskatoon so please check with us if you are interested in fostering/adopting a pittie puppy or dog.
